The file is not finished

the September 24 transcript records that further consideration of Bill 208 was deferred until the committee concludes the Lobbyists Act review. the committee page currently lists no new Bill 208 meeting.

A useful amendment packet would include

  • An enforcement baseline clause.
  • A public reporting requirement.
  • An online and informal-supply review.
  • A transition plan for adults who smoke.
  • A review trigger if illegal supply grows.

Why an amendment packet is needed

Bill 208 focuses on flavoured single-use vaping products, but Alberta rules and enforcement already covers age, ID, display, advertising, location and fines. The added rule should be measured against the existing framework.
